Chicken Francese

Chicken francese, in Italian-American restaurants, is usually a cutlet in a lemon sauce. Bravo lists the name three times, without printing that sauce.

Chicken cutlet in a pale lemon sauce, served with pasta

The usual dish, and the Bravo buttons

Chicken francese is typically an egg-dipped cutlet in a lemon and white-wine sauce, close to piccata but with the egg coating. That is the style the name points at. Bravo's order pages for Chicken Francese with Pasta, the Chicken Francese hero, and Bar Pie Chicken Francese do not print a sauce description. The photo shows a cutlet in a pale lemon sauce with pasta. It illustrates the usual plate. It is not a claim that today's ticket looks exactly like the picture.

Chicken Al Fresco is a different entree, and that one does say lemon wine sauce, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, and arugula. Do not copy that description onto francese.

Dinner, sandwich, or a small pie

Chicken Francese with Pasta is the sit-down plate, in Pasta and Entrees, next to Chicken Marsala with Pasta and Chicken Parmigiana. The hero is a long roll under Heros. The bar pie is a 10-inch pie, not a dinner. Order the category that matches how you want to eat it.

The address is 413 New Dorp Lane. The family has made pizza since 1985. This location opened in 2020. Dinner in the room can include the pasta plate and a seat near the 35 TVs. A hero is the version that travels.

Hours for a francese order

Open 11 AM to 1 AM every day. The full menu, including the entree and the hero, runs until 11 PM. After that, the Extended Hours menu is shorter. Do not assume the francese dinner is on the late list without looking.

Catering trays are arranged on the catering page or by phone at (718) 317-1010. This post does not say how many people a tray feeds.
