What Is a Hero Sandwich?
A hero sandwich is what New York calls the long sandwich. Bravo's order site files them under Heros.
Hero, sub, and hoagie
The same long sandwich gets a different name by city. In New York it is a hero. Bravo uses that word. The heading on the order site is Heros. It does not say hoagie, and it does not list an Italian combo. The photo is a chicken parm hero on a sesame roll.
A roll under Calzones and Rolls is not a hero. The Chicken Roll is dough baked around a cheese filling. A hero is a sandwich you can open. Order the category that matches the bread.
