What the name is doing

In a New York pizzeria, white pizza is the pie without tomato sauce. Cheese, garlic, and sometimes ricotta are the usual idea. Bravo's item pages for White Large, White Medium, White Slice, and Bar Pie White do not print that cheese list. This post will not pretend they do. The photo shows a pie with melted cheese and no red sauce. It illustrates the idea. It is not a recipe card for the shop.

Ricotta and fresh mozzarella appear on the pie pages as optional toppings, which means they can be added. That is not the same as saying the base white pie is a ricotta pie.

Four ways to order it

White Large and White Medium are whole pies. White Slice is the counter piece. Bar Pie White is the 10-inch version. If the table wants red sauce, order Regular, Sicilian, or Grandma instead. If one person wants white and another wants red, the half-topping tools on a red pie are not the same thing as ordering a white pie. Order the white item.

The shop is at 413 New Dorp Lane. The family has made pizza since 1985. This location opened in 2020.

When to choose it

White is the pie for someone who wants cheese and not tomato. It is a poor guess for a group that has not talked about sauce. Ask, then tap the size. Hours are 11 AM to 1 AM daily, full menu until 11 PM. Pickup is the New Dorp Lane door. Delivery is the address checkout accepts.
